AH…SPRING EVENTS IN TEXAS!
Around here, the spring event season starts in March with the St. Patrick’s Days events and then storms into April with a major slate of festivals. Maybe not the best choice of words there but weather will always have an impact on your events. However, the event planners know it, the sponsors know it and for the most part, the attendees know it. It’s pretty much what we signed up for.
So it got me thinking, “what are the wettest months in Dallas Fort Worth historically”? I was pretty confident after all these years in the event business that April would be it. After all, “April showers bring…”. But guess what, it isn’t April. It’s May. From 1971 to 2000 the month of May in DFW averages 5.15″ of rain. And April, 3.20″. Not even close.
There you go.
